Project title: Assessment of vegetation changes in Kilombe caldera, Baringo County Kenya: Inferences from micro-botanical remains and current vegetation..
Currently, I am a Doctoral Researcher in the Computer Science Department and the Geosciences and Geography Department at the University of Helsinki, Finland.
This research work will culminate in my PhD. The project I am working on is titled “Macroevolution of Ecological Relationships in Eastern Africa,” (Funded by the Research Council of Finland) my focus is on plant components. My role involves analyzing the functional traits of modern plant species and macrofossils to understand how these traits vary across plant communities in different environmental conditions, and how the evolution of plant communities and their dynamics have affected the evolution of mammal communities in East Africa from the Miocene to the present day.
My goal is to understand the vital role of palaeoecology and modern ecology in advancing our knowledge of evolutionary biology and fostering effective conservation strategies.
