Mduduzi Maseko is a Rupert Art Foundation Academic Intern at the University of the Witwatersrand’s Rock Art Research Institute, where he works closely with the digital lab of the African Rock Art Digital Archive (www.sarada.co.za).

He holds a Master of Science degree in archaeology, from the University of the Witwatersrand, and his MSc thesis focused on the rock art of central Mpumalanga, of which very little was known. Between 2020 and 2021, he was the lecturer for the modules Introduction to Archaeology, and Prehistoric Rock Art at the University of South Africa. Currently, Mduduzi is studying the late Holocene communities of central Mpumalanga (for his doctoral research), as well as exploring various themes in the rock art of Mpumalanga Province as a whole.
