Kalila Stewardson was born on July 18, 1999, in East London, South Africa. 

Kalila pursued her passion for environmental sciences at the University of the Free State, where she earned both her undergraduate and honours degrees in Environmental Geology in 2022 and 2023, respectively. She is currently advancing her studies through a master’s degree (MSc) in Environmental Geology at the same institution. An active and outdoors-oriented individual, Kalila has enjoyed horse riding, swimming, rock climbing, and camping since the age of four.
