Research title: Raw Material Procurement Analysis at Border Cave (KwaZulu-Natal)
I am a curious student of the past with a background in geology, archaeology and palaeontology.
My current PhD research brings all these fields together in an attempt to establish and hopefully understand the choices early humans made regarding the selection and collection of rock for stone tool production. My research focuses on how the selection of raw materials (rock) changed in relation to the change in lithic technology from the post-Howiesons Poort to the Early Later Stone Age at Border Cave (KZN, South Africa).
