Since 1994, PAST has grown from an organization funding human origins research at Sterkfontein to the largest independent, African-based supporter of research, education and public outreach in all of the palaeontological sciences across the continent. PAST has funded hundreds of postgraduate bursaries and grants for research, technical training, conferences and publications.
