Appointment of Co-Chairman of The Board of Trustees

Appointment of Co-Chairman of The Board of Trustees

I am delighted to announce that the Board of Trustees of PAST unanimously voted at their meeting on the 22nd July 2020 to appoint Zwelibanzi (Zweli) Vincent Mntambo as Co-Chairman of PAST.

Having reached an advanced stage in a distinguished and successful career both serving in the public sector and building great businesses in the private sector, Zweli has been a dedicated and active Trustee of PAST for over 10 years. He has made an increasingly important strategic contribution to our organization in recent years, particularly through identifying long-term objectives and building invaluable stakeholder relationships.

He will immediately assume an equal share of the duties and obligations of Chairmanship. It is a great pleasure and privilege for me to share the Chairman’s tasks with Zweli, and I am confident that together we will build on our friendship and longstanding association at PAST. I am personally most grateful that he has agreed to take on this new role.

Our responsibility is to assist the team in fulfilling our mission of supporting the scientific study of the origins of life and humanity in Africa. We see it as a key part of our mission to make sure as well that the full potential benefit of this research is realized through the education of our children, and through sharing the lessons of the common origins of our species and all life on earth as widely as possible, in order to help to build the best future that we can for all of us.
