PAST recognised with BASA Awards Nomination 2018

The partnership between PAST and Standard Bank has been recognised with a nomination in the upcoming 21st annual BASA (Business and Arts South Africa) Awards.

PAST’s two most important public engagement initiatives, All From One and Walking Tall, earned the partnership a nomination as a finalist in the Development Award category – one of 11 in this prestigious awards event.

“It’s an honour to be recognised with our partner Standard Bank,” says PAST CEO, Andrea Leenen. “All From One and Walking Tall both use the arts and creativity to take the story of our shared origins to the public – and so help confront racial discrimination and the rapid, human-induced loss of natural environments and biodiversity.”

“It’s also fantastic that we have earned the nomination in a year in which the theme of the BASA Awards is legacy. It’s an appropriate one for PAST because much of our work is in advocating that we all carry the legacy of our African Origins in our DNA.”
